In a nutshell: Relic Survivors is a fantasy action game with no blood or horror, free to play, with no advertising and no tracking. Purchases are optional and controlled by Apple. Children under 13 get no free-text chat. You can turn off chat, limit purchases and play time, and delete the account from inside the app. Questions? relicsurvivors@gmail.com (subject "Parents").
1. What is Relic Survivors?
A role-playing survival game for iPhone and iPad: the player moves their hero with a joystick, the hero attacks magical creatures automatically, collects essence, levels up and earns loot. It has a solo campaign, online co-op and competitive matches (for example, duels or Relic Ball, a 3-vs-3 match), clans, friends, a social town (the Citadel) and a Market where items are traded with in-game gold only. The style is dark fantasy but friendly: no blood, no gore and no horror. The age rating is the one shown on the App Store.
2. Quick safety checklist
Ask your child to enter their real birth year when the game first opens.
Check Settings → Safety & family → Open chat and turn it off if you prefer.
Turn on Ask to Buy in Family Sharing or block purchases in Screen Time.
Set a time limit for the app in Screen Time.
Remind them not to use their real name as a nickname and never to share personal details.
Show them how to block and report (tap the player's name) and to tell you if anything makes them uncomfortable.
3. Age and what changes by age
When the game first opens we ask only for the birth year, with a neutral picker that suggests no age. We never ask for name, photo, email or phone, and children can play as guests without linking any account.
Age
What changes
Under 13
No free-text chat: preset quick phrases and emotes only. No private messages. No news or marketing notifications.
13 or over
Filtered and moderated text chat from level 5. Can be turned off in Settings.
Under 18 in Brazil or Belgium
The most expensive offers are not shown.
Any age in Belgium
No random rewards are sold.
If your child entered the wrong year, write to us with their account ID (Settings → Account → Your account ID) and we will correct it.
4. Chat and contact with other players
Where chat exists: in the Citadel (room and private messages) and in the clan. There is no voice chat and no sending of photos, videos or links.
Automatic filter in all 16 game languages: blocks insults, inappropriate words, links, social handles, emails and phone numbers, so nobody can arrange contact outside the game.
Mute, block and report: by tapping another player's name or message (also in friends, leaderboards, clans and the Market). Blocking stops their messages, friend requests and invitations.
Human review of reports, usually within 48 hours, with sanctions ranging from a mute to account closure (see the Rules).
Turn off chat: Settings → Safety & family → Open chat. This setting is stored on the device: if your child plays on several devices, check it on each one.
Player-made maps are built only from game pieces (no text or images) and played with friends in private matches.
5. Purchases
The game is free and can be fully enjoyed without paying; gems can also be earned by playing. Purchases are optional, show their price and are charged by Apple.
Chests and other random content show their odds before purchase and in Settings → Legal & transparency → Chest odds.
Virtual items have no real-money value and cannot be cashed out. The player Market works with in-game gold only.
Control purchases with Apple:
Ask to Buy (Family Sharing): each purchase request from your child comes to you to approve or decline. iPhone Settings → [your name] → Family Sharing → [your child] → Ask to Buy.
Unauthorised purchases: request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot refund App Store purchases ourselves.
6. Play time and notifications
Use Screen Time → App Limits to set a daily maximum.
Notifications are optional. Game reminders never ring between 21:00 and 09:00, and there is at most one if your child has not played for a few days. Turn them off in the game settings or in iOS Settings → Notifications → Relic Survivors.
Matches are short and the campaign can be paused. Note that leaving an online match counts as a loss, so it helps to give your child a few minutes' warning before stopping.
7. Your child's data
No advertising, no tracking and no selling of data. We use no third-party analytics.
We only keep what the game needs: a guest account (a random identifier), progress, birth year, nickname, purchases and anti-cheat security data.
If you link the account with Sign in with Apple, you can choose Hide My Email.
Other players see the nickname, avatar, level, clan and results. That is why the nickname should not be your child's real name.
The account, cloud progress, nickname, friends, clan and messages are deleted immediately; if it was linked with Apple, access to the Apple ID is also revoked. It cannot be undone and purchases are lost. To request a copy of the data, correct it or make any other request, write to us with the subject "Parents" and the account ID (Settings → Account → Your account ID). We reply with priority and always within one month.
9. Tips for talking with your children
Play a match with them: it is the best way to get to know the game and their online friends.
Explain that online not everyone is who they say they are, and that the game team will never ask for passwords.
Agree together on when and how long to play, and what to do before buying anything.
Tell them they can share anything that makes them uncomfortable without fear of losing the game.
